Garistine "Joy" Davis Simmons

Serves as the Executive Pastor of Faith Consulate.  She was born to Pastors Gary and Christine Davis (hence the name, “Garistine”) and was raised in Fayetteville, NC. Her parents nicknamed her “Joy” because as their first child, she brought so much “joooooy” to their lives! Joy accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at the age of 15. In June 2003, Joy accepted the call of the Lord into ministry. In 2007, she was ordained as an elder at Faith Hope Holy Church and in July, 2009 she was licensed as an evangelist missionary in the Church of God in Christ.  In 2011, she became a member of Faith Ministries Alliance under the leadership of Dr. Bill Winston.

In June 2007, Joy co-founded Faith Consulate (formerly, World Impact Ministries, Inc.) With her husband, Ben. On September, 2007, the ministry, which focused on training and evangelism, aired its first television broadcast, “Impacting Your World with Ben & Joy” on the ION Network.  During the latter part of 2010, Ben and Joy began holding Thursday night bible study in their home and in April 2011, they began holding Sunday Morning Worship Service in their home. Gifted with strong organizational skills, and a keen eye for detail, Joy compliments and works alongside her husband in their ministry endeavors and dedication to “Impacting people to impact the world”.

Joy's commitment to god and ministerial excellence is reflected in her academic and spiritual accomplishments. After graduating from high school, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Saint Augustine’s college in Raleigh, North Carolina (1988). She then received the masters of business administration and the juris doctor degree from the Ohio state university in Columbus, Ohio (1991 and 1992, respectively). She also earned the master of laws degree from Saint Thomas University in Miami, Florida (2005). Joy is licensed to practice law in the State of North Carolina.

As an attorney, joy pursued her legal career with the same commitment to excellence displayed in her walk with Christ and her academic pursuits. During her career, she practiced law with the North Carolina banking commission, as well as in her firm. Her passion for teaching and mentoring was fulfilled when she joined the staff of Saint Augustine's University and Fayetteville State University, Fayetteville, NC. and other institutions of higher education.  As an assistant professor of business law and accounting, she taught courses in accounting, the legal environment of business and business law to undergraduate students. She also advised, mentored, and counseled students in making life decisions that not only impacted their careers and families, but that also impacted their lives financially, socially, and spiritually. Joy currently manages BGS Enterprises, Inc., which operates a liberty tax franchise, a company owned by joy and her husband, Pastor Ben. She practices law in the area of tax resolution and estate planning.  Additionally, Joy also provides consulting services for small business owners and church leaders in the areas of accounting, administration, leadership, legal and tax issues.

Most of all, her life is made complete and her soul is entirely fulfilled by the union with the love of her life, ben. They have two children, B.J. and Brittani. She enjoys making their house a home, and planning their next adventure or vacation. She says, “I love to read, travel, sight-see, attend plays, musicals, museums, and just try new things.” And dedication to “impacting people to impact the world”.
